EXTRA Bible Teaching

When time is limited, but Bible teaching is important, here are a number of shorter series that will suit Sunday services or Church Away Days.

Encouragements from Nehemiah - In this series of shorter studies we discover how the story of Nehemiah speaks to us today. Just as the Israelites were called to share in rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, so we are called to share in the work of Christ in building His Church. The challenges facing Nehemiah were very similar to those facing us today. Nehemiah’s approach to issues amongst God’s people and opposition from outside is hugely significant. The work God calls us to do can be achieved as we rely on the enabling power of the Holy Spirit - and Nehemiah shows us how. ( 8 x 30 minutes OR 4 x 60 minutes sessions )

Questions Jesus Asked - Andy looks at seven significant questions that Jesus asked, why he asked them and what relevance they have for us today. This is a challenging series but one that will strengthen our relationship with Jesus. ( 7 x 50-60 minute sessions )

Answers Jesus Gave - Andy looks at seven significant answers that Jesus gave helping us to understand some of the important truths that Jesus teaches which can easily be overlooked at first glance. Challenging, stimulating and rewarding. ( 7 x 50-60 minute sessions )

Promises of Revelation - In the book of Revelation there are seven wonderful blessings, each with an accompanying promise. In this series, Andy looks at each blessing and their associated promise and helps us see how they still apply for us today. Seven ‘jewels’ not to be missed. ( 7 x 50-60 minute sessions )

Refreshing Relationship With God - A five-part series based on 1 Peter 2:9. Andy helps us to understand the importance of four key realities as disciples of Christ. Where we are; Whose we are; Who we are; What we are; Why we are. Being ‘in Christ’ makes all the difference to our relationship with God, with each other and with the world. This teaching helps us understand our position, our relationships and our purpose in life. (5 X 50-60 minute sessions - either weekly or as part of a weekend away )

FOR CHURCH LEADERS:

Making Disciples - the Authority; the Goal; the Way; the Promise - Taking the commission of Jesus in Matt 28, Andy reminds us of these basics of the mission of the Church. It’s an opportunity to re-consider how each of these basics can become reality for us and how we can encourage others to work with us to do what Jesus calls us to do. ( Best run as part of a Leadership Away Day or Weekend - 4 x 45 minutes - with group reflection / discussion )

Principles of Leadership - drawing on the example of Nehemiah, Andy highlights some crucial principles involved in leadership. Nehemiah may have been an ordinary man doing an ordinary job, just like many of those in church leadership, but his obedience to God’s call on his life had impact on history. He became one of the Bible’s great leaders and was instrumental in rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem and the people of God. His story shows us the best way to serve God as church leaders. (Best run as part of a Leadership Conference - 5 x 90 minutes with group reflection / discussion)
